The Selection Committee shall be recommended by the Chair of the Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels Board of Directors and approved by the Board.
The Selection Committee shall consist of five (5) members who are not a member of EDMH or an employee of EDMH, plus a non-voting Chair from EDMH staff.
The five (5) members of the Selection Committee shall comprise:

APPOINTMENT TO SELECTION COMMITTEE
All members appointed to the Selection Committee shall have a great depth of knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry in Edmonton.
All members appointed shall be appointed for a two (2) year term with a maximum of two (2) terms.
Any member may be re-appointed to the Selection Committee at the expiration of his/her term.
Should a vacancy on the Selection Committee occur at any time prior to his/her term being completed, the Selection Committee Chair may appoint a new person to fill the vacancy for the remainder of that term subject to the approval of the Board.
Any member may resign from the Selection Committee at any time upon sending written notice to the Chair of the Selection Committee.
Any member may be removed from the Selection Committee at any time on the recommendation of the Selection Committee Chair.
SELECTION COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROCESS
The Selection Committee shall meet at least once a year to select award finalists and winners for Edmonton Tourism award categories.
Other meetings may be scheduled at the call of the Chair to discuss policy and selection procedures.
The Selection Committee members are encouraged to attend the annual awards program.
The Chair of the Selection Committee shall assume the following responsibilities:
Chair the meeting of the Selection Committee on an annual basis.
After the Selection Committee have made their selections, submit the names and appropriate documentation to the Executive Director of Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels who will then submit the selections to the Board for approval.
